Cocky Boys At Vassar!

Cocky Boys is in the news again—and in another unexpected way. This evening Vassar College is hosting a special panel discussion with the studios’ owners Jake Jaxson, RJ Sebastian, and Benny Morecock — and it’s not just about porn. The press release describes it as a “panel discussion on life, love, and the art porn movement that they have ignited.”

The panel discussion was spurred by Vassar student Jack Levinson’s senior thesis: an original play, Gay Sex, based on last year’s New York Magazine article by Molly Young written last year titled He & He & He. You might recall that it was a profile about the unconventional “three-partner” relationship with owner/director Jake Jaxson, director of photography RJ Sebastian, and creative director Benny Morecock. Levinson will lead the panel consisting of the “throuple”  and writer Molly Young.

Bel Ami Helps Preserve The Athletic Model Guild Archives

Bel Ami did something extraordinary today by announcing it has donated $5000 to the Bob Mizer Foundation to archive & preserve the 1 million photos of the late Athletic Model Guild founder’s work. This donation to the Kickstarter Fundraising Project actually made it possible for the foundation to make its $8000 goal…and exceed it! In addition, having reached this goal the Mizer Archive Project, now has a “challenge grant” which if reached will allow them to move into phase two!

Who was Bob Mizer and what was the Athletic Model Guild? Photographer & filmmaker Mizer was one of the most prolific pioneers of modern gay erotica and influenced many photographers, artists, filmmakers & studios. By today’s hardcore standards many of you will see that Mizer’s work seems tame by comparison but he actually was arrested & jailed for it. You can read about him and the Guild at the Kickstarter Atheletic Model Guild Fundraising site and learn just how important Bob Mizer was and why this preservation effort is underway. We also recommend the book Bob’s World (published by Taschen) which covers his life and career in pictures and in film (there is a DVD included).
